In Italy there are a multitude of
lakes which are mostly concentrate in northern
Italy, reason for this is the higher rainfall and
the mountain chain of the Alps which was the causation
for the creation of natural lakes in the last millenniums.
The three largest lakes in Italy are flowing through several regions and provinces
from Piedmont (Piemonte), Lombardy (Lombardia), South Tyrol (Trentino-Alto Adige) to Veneto.
